About Us

Who is CD Qld?
Community Development Queensland is a network of people and organisations who share a passion for growing and sharing knowledge and practice of community development in Queensland.

The network has existed in an informal way since the early 1970's. In late 2005 a Steering Group was formed with a view to growing the network, including exploring opportunities for formalising the network over time and increasing the range of activities the network can become engaged in. During 2006 the Steering Group and Volunteer Coordinator worked together to create a new website and a new structure for managing the work of CD Qld.

From 2007, Foresters ANA Mutual Society will auspice CD Qld and provide administrative support for the CD Qld Coordinator position.

One of the main ways CD Qld has helped CD practitioners get together and share ideas and information, is with the bi-annual Community Development CONFER-ences. To find out more about CD Qld's Conferences, please go to CD Conferences.

Steering Group
A Steering Group currently meets once a month in Brisbane, to manage the CD Qld website and drive the longer term development of the network.

People participate in the Steering Group from Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and Mackay. Everyone is welcome to join the Steering Group. To find out more, contact us.
